Kitchen Coordinator
Job Summary
WellFed Community, the food arm of WellBuilt Cities, a Tampa based nonprofit, is seeking a part-time kitchen coordinator. The kitchen coordinator will bring professional culinary experience that supports maintenance of kitchen best practices in WellFed's mobile teaching kitchen. Responsibilities include food preparation, ensuring cleanliness and food safety best practices, kitchen maintenance, and menu/recipe development.
WellFed Community’s goal is to make food make sense. Current programs include community gardens, mobile food distribution, and food education that services neighbors in the Tampa Bay Area. This is a part-time position starting at 10 Hours per month at an hourly rate $15-$18 with the potential for growth.
Responsibilities

Support WellFed's programming and education staff with culinary experience to provide kitchen coordination in a mobile teaching kitchen environment

Ensure best practices and professional standards are followed in relation to kitchen safety, cleanliness, and maintenance

Prepare and cook nutritious food

Develop recipes and menus

Maintain positive relationships with partners and staff

Follow WellFed education procedures

Maintain supplies and equipment
Qualifications

English and Spanish preferred
-
Professional cooking experience

Strong communications and organization skills

Ability to work on a collaborative team

Drivers license

ServSafe manager certification or completion within 30 days

Experience in food preparation and practices

Ability to work weekends and evenings
Food Educator
Job Summary
WellFed Community, the food arm of WellBuilt Cities, a Tampa based nonprofit, is seeking a part-time food educator. The Food Educator will be responsible for teaching cooking classes focused on nutrition utilizing whole, fresh foods. This is a part-time Position starting at 20 Hours per month at an hourly rate $15-$18 with the potential for growth.
WellFed Community’s goal is to make food make sense. Current programs include community gardens, mobile food distribution, and food education that services neighbors in the Tampa Bay Area.
Responsibilities

Prepare for and lead food demonstrations and cooking classes at existing sites and new sites as opportunities arise

Use education style that is culturally and materially relevant to audiences, such as those with limited access to fresh food, those with dietary restrictions, and those with varying food cultures

Maintain engaging teaching style

Coach community food ambassadors in nutrition and food education

Maintain partner relationships

Collect data for regular reporting

Follow WellFed education procedures

Maintain supplies and equipment
Qualifications

English and Spanish language

Strong interest in food, cooking, and nutrition

Strong communications skills and ability to lead engaging presentations

Drivers license

ServSafe certification or completion within 30 days

Ability to collect and enter data

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

Professional degree not required, however, candidates must be able to teach classes focused on real, fact-based information that is accessible to audiences
